WORKSHOP ALESSANDRO CASTELLANI

We have our origins in the traditional working of bronzefollowing the time honored methods of florentine artisticcraftsmanship.
The pieces created by ALESSANDRO CASTELLANI include objects for home and table, wine culture, weddingfavors, souvenirs and gift items.
After first making a wax model of the object it is cast in bronze using the lost wax method of forging.
This is the same method used since antiquity to cast bronze.
After the painstaking work of sculpting, chiseling and grinding, the pieces are finished by polishing them.
The polishing is done with pure silver which is applied to the surface by galvanic plating (electrolisis). Finally a patina is applied using our exclusive system, using onlynatural primary materials.
The surface of the pieces are then subjected to a protective treatment using ultraviolet rays which give the silver a black shadowing.
A speciality of the Castellani Workshop are the over 100 different models of bottle top sculptures for wine and Champagne bottles, which are much sought-after by collectors.
The other materials most frequently incorporated in ourpieces are crystal, blown glass and methacrylate.

The Alessandro Castellani workshop is located in one of the most beautiful places in Tuscany, in a 17th centuryfarm-house villa at the top of a hilly crest between the Apuan Alps and the sea. Because its beauty, tranquility and proximity to Pietrasanta and the marble quarries of Versilia (Carrara), many artists have chosen their “buen-retiro” in these hills.
